Future-Ready

What does it mean to be Future-Ready?

Being future-ready means learning the skills to thrive in a constantly changing world where technological growth, social and economic shifts, and environmental challenges are the norm. It means having the techniques necessary to adapt to new situations and being able to innovate solutions.

Our Mission

To provide students with a learning pathway that draws upon their strengths, and develops their capacity, preparing them for the future world of work, beyond their school years.

Academic Pathways

The knowledge you need to achieve your academic and career goals

CTBC provides the opportunity for students to complete three core Applied Subjects across Years 11 and 12:

  • Essential English
  • Essential Maths
  • Social and Community Studies

Completing these Applied Subjects supports students in achieving their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

The academic content and related assessments are linked to the students’ world of work by having students engage in real-world relevant inquiry and skills-based assessment.

Vocational Pathways

Develop the training and skills to achieve in your chosen industry

At CTBC, we understand that each student’s vocational journey is different. We work with students and parents to determine their best pathway.

Students initially complete work experience at CET (Challenge Employment and Training). Once they have demonstrated suitability for employment in particular industries and trades, they are then assisted in securing a School-Based Apprenticeship or School-Based Traineeships.

Belonging - Empowerment - Self-Leadership

Allowing students to co-manage their educational and vocational outcomes is crucial to empowering them to take ownership and accountability of their future-ready pathway.

The CTBC staff also supports students in fostering self-leadership skills such as time management, goal setting, and decision-making, in which students become more independent and confident.

Belonging

Empowerment

Self-Leadership

Belonging is the feeling of acceptance, inclusion, and security. This will allow you to be your authentic self.

Empowerment is the process of gaining the freedom and power to do what you want or to control what happens to you.

Self-leadership is about taking ownership of your life and consciously shaping your journey.
